These Past Four Years Have Been Crazy

It just hit me how tumultuous the past four years have been...

I really just started out recording in my living room and wanting to impress my friends...Shout out to Mint and TreaZon...all of this started with you guys.

I'm only eighteen years old. I've fallen in and out of love, lost friends, made unexpected alliances, and ran around this town making memories that some people could only wish to experience. Greg...the MGz...Ransom...even The Wave Club, Stella, Nadhia, Tahis...I hate when I name names, because I always forget somebody. I'll stop there. We made this city ours. We ran around like crazy kids and never gave a fuck what anybody thought, as long as we were us. Thank you, all of you. For all of it. The positive and the negative inspires me. The idea that I've performed and rapped and sang for the people here in New York, and I've had the privelege to take my story even out of my state to share it with the hearts and minds of the people that love this music the way I do is special within itself. The fact that I've met and spoken to some of my heroes and my favorite artists...to have artists I love tell me they're fans of me, and that they respect what I'm doing is love I can never forget.

Young King Mike Waxx, Mike Carson, I'm so proud of you guys. You're doing so many amazing things, and its strictly because you're the best at what you do. You're doing this because you get it. Who's fucking with illRoots??? Really though???

Thank you to anybody who embraced Alive & Vibrant..That was such an amazing time in my life, the good and the bad. I'll never forget that tacky ass red/yellow plaid flannel hahahah! Thank you to anybody who embraced Howling at Hades.

New York drove me out of my mind, and you'll get to hear about all of it one day. The craziest part is...I haven't even really gotten started yet.

GQ Interview With CM Punk

Best in the game.

GQ: When you look back at your time with the WWE, what were your proudest moments?

C.M. Punk: I will always say that my proudest moment was just being C.M. Punk. When I started wrestling in the backyard with my buddies, I was C.M. Punk. When we didn't know anything about the wrestling business and decided that we needed to run shows because we were awesome, when we built a wooden ring and eventually bought a ring and started running shows—these untrained goofballs that we all were—I was obsessed with being the best wrestler. I think it's an awesome story, that I've been C.M. Punk since I was 15, and that I went from rolling around in the backyard to Wrestlemania. I'm extremely proud of that. I've always been me. The last three weeks of my career, I've cut some of the best promos I've ever cut, and I do consider myself to be a promo guy. Winning the Heavyweight Title for the first time, when I cashed in on Edge, was awesome. The fact that I can work with anybody, from Undertaker to Big Show to Rey Mysterio.

I don't want to sound egotistical, but I'm egotistical to an extent. If you're in this business and you don't think that you're the best, or want to be the best, then I don't know what you're doing. I would never be happy with just coming to TV tapings, not working house shows, and just getting by, staying in the shadows. I'm proud of the fact that I can turn chickenshit to chicken salad.
