I think the stereotypes of anime are unfortunate, as the ones I enjoy and recommend (as documented by the Astro's Anime series) usually contain thought provoking philosophies on justice, morality, human nature altogether; and a few other mind-bending concepts that you might not have otherwise questioned. You never know...you might learn something.
